What types of rental cars and vehicles does Europcar offer?
Europcar's large diverse fleet has a model to suit your requirements. Our
vehicles are suitable for business or holiday travel and include economy,
compact, intermediate and full size classes, plus for something special,
we offer prestige / luxury car hire and 4WD.

How does the chauffeur / driver service work?
Our driver will come to collect you and your passengers from your booked
pickup address and drop you off at your desired destination. Note that
our rates are based on a rental from depot to depot, so charges will reflect
time and distance for our driver to leave and return to the source Europcar
depot / branch.

Do you hire baby capsules as well as vehicles?
No. At this stage, we do not offer baby seats for car hire in India.
What age do I have to be to rent a car?
For rentals with our chauffeur service, there is no minimum age for rental bookings. Please note, however, that the renter (name on the rental agreement) must have a means of payment that can be attributable to them e.g. credit card with name & signature or a valid corporate account number. The rental agreement must be signed by a person of 18 years and above.
For self drive rentals, the minimum age for all drivers is 25.

What methods of payment do Europcar accept?
For our chauffeur drive service, Europcar accepts all major Credit Cards including Visa, Mastercard and Diners Card. At the time of rental there must be sufficient funds available on the nominated credit card to cover all applicable rental charges. When processing payment, the credit card holder needs to be available, unless a Letter of Authority has been completed by the credit card holder. For more information on this procedure, please contact our reservation centre on (+91) 11 41667760-63. Europcar does not accept debit cards.
Europcar may accept personal cheques as a means of payment for the rental at its discretion.
For our chauffeur drive service, car rentals being paid with cash require the renter to pay the full amount of the rental and a security deposit may be also taken. The security deposit will be refunded when our driver returns the vehicle. Europcar has a cash qualification process, please check at the time of reservation.
For our self drive service, Europcar accepts payments as listed above.
Does Europcar offer long-term self drive rentals?
Yes, we offer long term car rental for corporate / business clients. To enquire about long-term rentals in India, please email contact@europcar.co.in or speak to one of our Reservation Services Officer at (+91) 11 41667760-63.
How many free kilometres per day with my self drive rental car?
For all of our Corporate Locations the following FREE Kilometres apply to all Vehicle Classes: 150 kms per day
How much do additional Time & Kilometres cost?
Chauffeur Drive
- EDMR: Extra kms 15 Indian Rupees per Kilometre, extra hours 100 Indian Rupees per hour
- CDMR: Extra kms 18 Indian Rupees per Kilometre, extra hours 120 Indian Rupees per hour
- IDMR: Extra kms 20 Indian Rupees per Kilometre, extra hours 120 Indian Rupees per hour
- SDMR: Extra kms 25 Indian Rupees per Kilometre, extra hours 140 Indian Rupees per hour
- FDMR: Extra kms 30 Indian Rupees per Kilometre, extra hours 250 Indian Rupees per hour
- FVMR: Extra kms 25 Indian Rupees per Kilometre, extra hours 140 Indian Rupees per hour
- PDMR: Extra kms 36 Indian Rupees per Kilometre, extra hours 300 Indian Rupees per hour
- FFMR: Extra kms 36 Indian Rupees per Kilometre, extra hours 300 Indian Rupees per hour
All the above figures exclude service tax
Self Drive
- EDMR: 10 Indian Rupees per Kilometre
- CDMR: 12 Indian Rupees per Kilometre
- IDMR: 15 Indian Rupees per Kilometre

- FDMR: 22 Indian Rupees per Kilometre

Can I extend the car rental duration?
Extending the car rental duration is possible at time of check out or during the rental itself. You will need to contact or come in person to the nearest location. The extension is subject to vehicle availability and extra payment.
Can I return the self drive rental vehicle outside the location operating hours?
Yes, you may return your vehicle when the Europcar location is closed, to an alternative location within the same city where the vehicle was rented, but note that this may incur a 'drop fee'. The vehicle will remain your responsibility until it has been checked by a Europcar Representative. Please refer to the Rental Terms & Conditions for more information.
Do I need to check the condition of the self drive vehicle prior to leaving the keys at the counter?
Yes, and if you found a new apparent defect (not listed on the vehicle statement remitted at time of pick up) you have to inform the Europcar employee for joint examination.
Does Europcar offer one-way car rentals for self drive?
No, we do not offer this service at present
Do I need to have an International Drivers Licence for self drive rentals?
If you are not an Indian Citizen then yes, you need to have an International Drivers Licence.
If I lock my keys in the vehicle am I covered by Road Side Assistance?
No, There will be extra charges. Please contact our Reservation Centre on (+91) 11 41667760-63 for more information.
Does Europcar charge cancellation Fees?
Europcar reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee, this can vary from location to location.
If I return my vehicle and am due a refund, when will I receive the money?
The time taken for issuing refunds varies as to the form in which the payment was first given to Europcar.
- Credit Card Payments: Any refunds due to a customer where the rental was paid for by credit card will be processed the next working day after the rental agreement has been closed.
- Cash & Cheque Payments: Any refunds due on a rental agreement where the form of payment was one of these will be refunded in cheques form from Head Office in New Delhi. Please note this can take up to 10 working days.
What do I do if I haven't received the refund I am due?
Contact the location where you returned the vehicle and they will follow up any queries you have.
How does the self drive service work?
You will need to come in to one of our Depots to both collect and return your vehicle. Note that our rates are based on a rental from depot to depot, so charges will reflect time and distance for you to return to the source Europcar depot.

For self drive rentals, can anyone other then myself drive the car?
Nobody can drive a Europcar Vehicle whose name does not appear on the Rental Agreement. When collecting the vehicle each driver must be listed on the Rental Agreement and they must present their drivers licence at time of collection.
Can I tow using a Europcar Vehicle?
No, we do not allow anything, including caravans or trailers, to be towed using our vehicles.
What happens if my rental runs overtime?
If your rental runs over the scheduled / booked time period or you wish to extend your rental period, you will need to contact Europcar. You will be charged for extra time and kilometres, pending availability of the driver and the vehicle for chauffeur driven rentals and availability of the vehicle for self drive rentals.
For chauffeur drive rentals, can anyone other than Europcar's appointed driver drive the car?
No, the driver / chauffeur that we provide with every rental is the only person authorised to drive the Europcar rental car.
Can I use another persons Credit Card to pay for my rental?
No, the credit card used for payment of the rental must be in the primary renters name and embossed on the front of the card. The renter's signature must appear on the back of the card.
What can I do if I do not have a credit card in my name?
Cash rentals are accepted however there is a cash qualification process, please ask your Reservation Agent at time of reservation.

DAMAGE AND OPTIONAL COVERAGE
In the event of an accident what am I liable to pay in case there is a loss to third party?
When you rent a self drive vehicle from Europcar, Third Party Liability cover for Bodily Injury is provided in accordance with the legal requirements of the country of rental.
What is my liability in case of an accident and loss to the vehicle?
You can cover this liability by paying a fee of INR 300/- per day for all class of vehicles. In case you do not opt for this coverage, you will be
liable for all losses.
What should I do in the event of an accident?
In the case of an accident you must always remember to complete an accident report form, giving a full report of the circumstances. If another vehicle is involved you must complete a jointly agreed report with the other person involved. Renter may be held responsible for costs incurred for damage to the rented vehicle if renter fails to complete an accident report form

ONLINE RESERVATION SERVICE
Can I check car hire rates without making a reservation?
Yes, you can, via our website. You may request a quotation and check availability without making a reservation. Complete only the first pages of the rates and reservations process stopping at the page entitled "Rates" to see your car hire quote. Please note that this quote is only valid for the specific request time / date - if you visit the site at a later time the rates may have changed due to availability.
If you wish to make a reservation at the time of viewing your quote, simply continue by pressing the "Book Now" Button.
How does Europcar protect my personal and credit card information online?
The online reservation service is located on a secure server that guarantees the safety of the transaction. The system uses SSL encrypting technology. SSL works by encrypting all communications between your computer and our server so the information cannot be intercepted.
How will I know my car hire reservation is confirmed?
At the end of the car hire reservation process you will see a "Reservation Confirmation" page with the reservation number highlighted. You will also receive a confirmation email containing the details of your reservation.
Is it possible to cancel or modify my car hire reservation once it is confirmed?
Yes it is. Go to the Edit my Booking page under the Quotes and Bookings menu and enter in your Reservation's Confirmation Number and Email Address used to make your booking. This will bring up your existing booking and you will have the option to edit or cancel.
