Road Regulations in Thailand for self drive rentals

Further information about Thailand's road rules can be found on the reverse side of your
rental agreement, but some key points are below.
Make sure you have a valid driving permit
You must have a full driving licence issued in Thailand or your country of residence (with an English translation or, an international driving permit. You must carry your driving licence and passport at all times when driving in Thailand.
Know what petrol to use
Europcar Thailand has a mixed fleet of diesel and gasoline powered vehicles. Please ensure you know what fuel the vehicle uses before departure. Both fuels are available throughout Thailand. Most of the larger service stations accept major credit cards, but you may find that cash is required in more rural locations.
In the event of an emergency
In the case of an accident where medical assistance is required, call the Tourist Police Call Center for emergency help on 1155.

Observe the speed limit
The maximum speed limit in cities and towns is 60 km/h and varies between 90 and 120 km/h on expressways and country roads. Police speed traps are a regular occurrence.
Seat belt
Legislation in Thailand requires both drivers and passengers to wear correctly fitted seat belts.
Park only where it is permitted
In major cities, parking areas will often have pole signage advising of parking restrictions. Please ensure you observe parking restrictions.
Your rental vehicle
Please check that the vehicle conditions written on the rental vehicles statement are correct and if an apparent defect is noticed and not listed when examining the vehicle; please notify the Europcar employee. Check the seating position is the most suitable for you, with correctly positioned mirrors. Discuss the route you will take with a Europcar employee, particularly if leaving a Europcar car hire airport or city centre.
